Buddo, who has spent a pleasiint holiday abroad. Mr. Buddo, who is in the best of health, looks forward with keenness to the coming election battle. —Press Association. At Knox Church, Eltham, on Sunday the Rev. F. W. Robertson intimated to his <c ongregation that lie Aiid decided to resign the charge at the next meeting of the Presbytery. He stated, says the Argus, he was taking tho step because he had felt for seme time past that he was physica'-ly unfit for .the work and that 'he intended to take a rest from it for a time. The remains of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Bloomfield and Miss Hilda Bloomfield (their only child), who were drowned in the Empress of Ireland, were brought back to Auckland yesterdav morning on board the Vancouver mail boat'lfokura. Mr. Bloomfield' was Colonel commanding the 3rd (Auckland) Mounted Rifles, and he will bo buried with regimental honors. Colonel Braithwaite bas come specially from Wellington to represent Major-General Sir A. Godley.—Press Association,
