It appears that an explosion occurred, and a party defended to ascertain the pause, found the fire spreading,and beat a hasty retreat. 'No miners were working at the time of the outbreak, it being the fortnightly holiday. l are ™ ea eF c '.' tat st is understood that the outbreak is serious and likely to cause enormous damage to property.
