In the first set the Canadians led 4—l, when with a. rally Australasia won. The set was characterised throughout by thrilling volley [day. The game was somewhat impeded by the state of the courts, which were spongy on account of the rain and had to be dried with bath towels and brooms before the match. THE CANADIANS OUTCLASSED. The Canadians took the " second, fourth and sixth games l in the second set, 4-0, 5—3, 4—l, also the first, third,, seventh and nin tin in tho last set, 7 —5, 7—5, o —4, B—o.8 —0. The Australasians won the majority of their games on dashing service. As in the singles', the Canadians were again outclassed, hut played better doubles. "Brookes and Wilding frequently thrilled the crowd by their splendid service and volleying.
