THE MOTOR BILL.
PROTEST PROM HAMILTON. By Telegraph— Press Association. Hamilton, July 24. At a meeting of the Waikato Automobile Association the following resolution was unanimously passed:—"That, in the opinion of this Association, the scheme of the present Bill is wrong in principle. This Association is of opinion that a uniform scale of taxation should apply to all motor vehicles, and that the taxation so realised should be subsidised from the general revenue pound for pound, and that the (iovernmcnt should obtain a loan for each province, for which this taxation wquld pay the necessary interest and sinking fund, and that such loan money should be expended in each province by an expert body which would take over defined main roads. This Association thinks that the general revenue should contribute, because the improvement of all roads is a total advantage, and that other vehicles damage roads as well as motors." -
