Gurditsingh refuses to allow the Komagata Maru to sail unless his various demands are complied with. He wants a thousand dollars' worth of food. The officials decline to place more aboard. The. militia has been called out, and it is likely that a forced departure will be made at once. NO NEED FOR ALARM. WILL GO QUIETLY. Received 24, 12.50 a.m. Vancouver, July 23. The officials misunderstood the Hindus' letter demanding extra provisions. It was not intended as an ultimatum. Tlie Hindus took tlie refusal quietly, and will sail early in the morning.
