The Assembly, on the motion of Mr. Giblin (a Laborite) unanimously resolved that as a result of the decision o: the Imperial authorities regarding the recent constitutional difficulty, he hoped that the Governor would not feel bound by any precedent to sever his connection with Tasmania. The resolution was presented to Sir Ellis Macartney.
