In the Assembly Mr. Perry, a member of the Totalisator Commission, made a lemand for a searching enquiry into thr•omments made by Mr Holman regarding members of the Commission. In the course of comments hinting at the appointment of a Royal Commission Mr. Holman had made use of the words "It was an inconceivable degree of depravity that a man should not only corrupt himself, but should sit as an instrument of the corruption of other men." 'Mr. Perry denied that any attempt had been made to influence votes on the commission, lie wanted an inquiry in order to satisfy the community that the charges were unfounded.
