ATTEMPT ON OFFICIAL'S LIFE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright . Received 21, 12.40 a.m. London, July 20. Basanta Kumar Challerji, belonging to the Calcutta Investigtaion Department, was shot at Dacca, but escaped. Another man accompanying him was killed, and a third dangerously wounded. The assailants disappeared. Challerji was investigating a similar attempt at Narendrasen reently.
