Carbajal was sworn in as President, and afterwards drove to the National Palace. He was greeted with tumu tuous cheering. AMERICA'S SATISFACTION. Received 16 ,10.35 p.m. Washington, July 15. The State Department hardly conceals its satisfaction at Huerta's resignation. It is expected that Carbajal has made satisfactory arrangements to hand over office to the Constitutionalists wh,>n Carranza reaches the capital. American forces are remaining at Vera Cruz until a settlement is effected. THE METHOD ADOPTED. Received 16, 9.35 p.m. Mexico City, July 16. Ifu*rta handed bis resignation to the Chamber of Deputies, who referred the resignation to the committee, which will take action thereon.
