RAILWAY OFFICERS' INSTITUTE.
CONFERENCE CONCLUDES. By Telegraph—Press Association, Dunedin, July 11. The Railway Officers' Institute, sessions concluded this evening. A great number of questions were considered, and it was decided: (1) That superannuation rights should be conserved for members dismissed after 30 years' service; (2) That officers have no confidence in the present chairman of the Railway Appeal Board; (3) That the management be asked to appoint a staff and promotion board to deal with staff questions; (4) that the management be asked to review the management of hours at certain stations where they were considered excessive; (o) that members of the professional branch o< the service be placed on the same footing as the branch in public service; (6) That the delegates should pay. an aunual visit to each branch of the Institute.
