LAUNCH CAPSIZES NEAR SYDNEY. SEVEN MEN DROWNED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, July 11. Barrett and Badliam. A tugboat was prevented from crossing the bar to search owing to the high sea running. Another vessel got oat and signalled late at night that her search had been unsuccessful. The we.ithcr was bitterly cold, and there is little hope that even if the missing men maau;:od to keep afloat they would survive tl-ii exposure.
SHARKS SEIZE SWIMMERS. Received 12, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, July 12. TJie bodies of three of the victims of the Tweed Heads disaster have been [ recovered. When the boat overturned, big waves were running in the channel, and washed off the men, who were clinging, numbied by the bitter- cold, to the upturned boat. Buchanan made gallant efforts to save Freeney, but became exhausted and was dashed against the rocks and sank. The bodies give evidence that skaTks attacked some of the victims whea they were attempting to reach lead.
