EXPORT DUTY ON= BOTTiHR-, .A, little discussion arose at Monday's, pitting of the Timber Workers' Federation, when the following motioa was advocated (s i ys the Dominion): — "That the Government B.tould Oe urged to pa.ss legislation regulating tile prices 01 foodstuffs in the direction of placing an export duty on produce exported from, the Dominion, when the price locally is out of proportion to the prices obtained ia the 'nrarlfet abroad." Mr 0. P. Meyer, who presided, faxored the motion very strongly, and one of km chief reasons was- that we in New Zealand often paid nrore than people in London did for New Zealand butter.
