MAROONED ON WRANGELL ISLAND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 9, 11.5 p.m. Nome (Alaska), July 9. Bartlett is awaiting the United States revenue cutter, which will proceed to the rescue of the shipwrecked Steffanson expedition party marooned on Wrangell Island. He states that he knows nothing of the reported loss of eight men, as reported to the Government. Bartlett added that the men who left Wrangell Island to secure provisions were saved when the Earluck was wrecked. He believed they wore safe, and no others were imperilled.
