Mr. Mitten, Minister of Defence, 'interviewed regarding the visit of the Australian fleet to New Zealand at the end of the jyear, said lie was unable to fix definite .dates until New Zealand's reply had been received as to what ports the Dominion Government wished the vessels to touch at. The fleet will leave New Zealand, accompanied by the navy ships now in those waters,' proceeding to Hobart for annual battle practice. Regarding the training of New Zealand cadets, Mr. Millen stated that he was awaiting information as to how far the building accommodation and temporary instructional staff at the Naval College can adequately meet the additional demands created by the New Zealanders, before a final decision is arrived at. The Minister is anxious to meet the wishes of the New Zealand authorities in this matter.
