NEW ZEALAND'S CLEAN BILL. DOCTORS' DIFFER. By Cable —Press Association —Copyrig-kt Received 5, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, duly a. Speaking regarding the. declaration that New Zealand is free from smallpox, Dr. Cumpston, the Federal Director of Quarantine, stated that it was a great pity that Sydney was unable to enow the same satisfactory state as New Zealand. During the whole time that smallpox was -raging in New Zealand no ease was imported to Australia. Dr Armstrong, of the Board" of Health, later contradicted Dr. Cumpston's statement, averring that one ease discovered in Newcastle eanie from New Zealand.
FURTHER CASES.
Received 6, 1 a.m. Sydney, July 5. Three further cases of smallpox have ben reported. Newcastle, July 5. There is one fresh case of smallpox locally.
Sydney July 5. Four case;; i ;' smallpox were reported ;o-day.
