MR G. P. DONNELLY'S RESIDENCE By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night.

Some valuable pictures and a few articles of furniture were saved, hut a large quantity of valuable furniture wa- destroyed The cause of the fire was cither a defective chimney or rati Three-quartrrs of an hour after the outbreak was di-covcred the strtng room was the only portion of the building left standing." It is bdjeved that the latter, which contains valuable papers, is intact. The hou-c and contents were in urcd in the Commercial Union office, but tlie amount is not ascertainable at present. ,
