EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. '•The, Woman Pays," the Tlianhouser Co.'s latest dramatic feature success was the star item of the new programme at the Empire Picture Palace last night. The enactment occupies nearly an hour, and the film is well staged aiul capably interpreted throughout. Mrs Watson, the wife, of an eminent lawyer, considers herself neglected owing to liar husband's work occupying nearly- all bis time. ,lack Dacres, a well known society man, thinks that Mrs Watson is enamoured with him, and he contrives to separate husband and wife through villainous trickery. The heart-broken woman is driven from her home, leaving her little three-year-old son with his father. Dacres subsequently marries Mrs Watson. Twenty years later they are -conducting a fashionable gambling casino which is raided by the police headed, by Airs Watson's son, who is secretary of a social reform league. Dacres attempts to shoot young Watson, but her mother intercedes and the revolver accidentally kills Ihu-rcs. Young Wati-on's mother is u-i'i'i-'led for the murder of Dacres, and, not knowing that the prisoner is his own niot'iier. the youth persuades bis father to defend 'lie/ The former Mi's Watson collapses in the court and expires, after exacting a promise from her husband to keep her identity unknown to her son. Supplementary to the star attraction are "Percy's Holiday." featuring the popular New Zealand comedian, Willie S. Percy, who proved such a favorite with the public when round with J. C. Williamson's Co.; "A Proposal from Mary" (Edison Drama);
