Professor Bottomlcy has produced, at King's College, a new stimulant of plant life called "bacteriscd." Tomatoes were grown from seeds planted in pure sand and watered with extract of An eggcupful was sprinkled on the surface of the soil. It also doubled the size of arum lilies. Plants of every kind grew more strongly and flowered more profusely with intensified colors. Similar results were obtained from wheat, barley and oats. Agricultural colleges are making extensive experiments. The Irish Agricultural Department is using two tons for potato tests.
