At the Venereal Diseases Commission, Dr Pringle, of the Middlesex Hospital, gave evidence that a targe proportion of syphilis was of foreign origin. Women forbidden the directs in their own countries came to England and spread the diseases.
SMALL-POX IN SYDNEY. Received 30, 12.15 a.m. Sydney, June 20. Five eases of small-pox were reported to-day.
BIG QUEENSLAND FIRE. Received 30, 1.5 a.m. Brisbane, Jiune 29. A fire at 'StantJiorpe destroyed the Commercial Bunk, 'the ComnttwciaJ Hotel, and eight shops, the damage amounting to £IO,OOO.
