ON CHRISTCHUBCH STIMTS. GhrisWhurdi, Tuesday. G' mplainte ilisive frequently been awade that girls anil women arc subject to molestation in Christehuroli streets, and that more often females arc fallowed toy men who, while not actually molesting them, tay to enter into convolution with them in the liope of striking up an acquaintance. Only the other day a ypung man was fined £5 in the Magistrate's Court bv Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., who passed some very severe comment on tlhe subject. A somewhat similar case is alleged to ihave happened yesterday. A married woman was walking alone tlie street in the afternoon .when she was accosted by a man, a perfect 'stranger to her, sho statesy who niiide 4ise of some yossly indecent.'and' sn\ggestive remarks. She hurriedly departed and informed her husband, wOi*> made a complaint to the police. As a result Detective Ryan arrested a man next morning and charged him with the offence.
