WOMEN AS POLICE.
URGED IN GREAT BRITAIN.

A meeting of the Criminal Law Amendment. Committee, held in the Caxton Hall, urged the appointment of women police for the supervision of parks, open spaces and railway stations, the answering of enquiries in the streets, the investigation of cases of assault, the visiting of places of amusement and refreshment, and the inspecting of women's lodging-houses. It was stated that forty towns in Germany had women police, and the number was steadily growing.
