The indignation of the citizens found expression at the funeral of a taxichauffeur killed by street subsidence. Four thousand taxis followed the hearse. Great crowds followed the other funerals.
The 1 president of the Syndicate of Seine Navvies accused the contractors on the underground'works in the Place St. Phillipe, Dcroule, ol using rotten cement in the brickwork. The contractors openly deny this.
