MR. ROOSEVELT'S RIVER.
THE EX-PRESIDENT LECTURING.

Mr. Roosevelt'lectured to a brilliant gathering at the Royal Geographical Society on his travels in Brazil. Ha claimed that he had plaved the Duvida. or "River of Doubt" on the map as. Speke, Grant and Baker had put the Upper Nile on the map. The Duvida had not been surveyed, but had been located by astronomical observations.
Mr. Roosevelt did not mention Mr. Savage Landor, the traveller, who criticised his achievements rather severely.
