FIREMAN SAVES A LIFE.

Hawkcn, was in flames. ■ ,tf Whilst the brigade were extinguish- -f\ ing the fire they were informed that * man was in the .building and alter * ' short search through dense moke, tinejr. , 4 found Hawken lying unconscious in hw bedroom'. He was promptly removed ■ , outside and artificial respiration wa* kept up by members of the brigade for about Mf an hour before he fully revived. Bawkon was removed to the hospital for treatment. Mm Hawken states she left her husband in bed when she went out during the afternoon, and on returning home she found the brigade extinguishing the «re.
