TRADE WITH AMERICA.
CANADA CONCERNED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 0, 9.35 p.m. Ottawa, Jane 15.
Mr. Beddoe, Trade Commissioner for Canada in New Zealand, reports that New Zealand exporters are arranging witli San Francisco and New York importers to accept" increased consign-' ments. Canadian trade is likely to be effected if New Zealand's tariff on United States manufactured articles is to ba reduced by the strong pressure used. New Zealand exporters naturally favor granting concessions to a country which lias opened.to them new markets, but on the other hand a strong feeling prevails in favor of dealing within the British Empire's confines if such can ke done advantageously.
