EAST .COAST RAILWAY.
Wairoa, Monday. The County Council passed a resolution calling on tlie Government to proceed vigorously with the East Coast railway, and make a start at Wairoa, working north and south.
BUSH FOR SCENIC PURPOSES. Wairoa, Monday. The Chamber of Commerce has received a telegram from the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher stating that the Government has decided to purchase the bush ?' Waikaremoana for £6OOO. This y acquiring the bush to the skylint r scenic purposes.
