QUARANTINE REGULATIONS,
Keceived 15, 0.10 p.m. By Cable—Piess Association—Copyright Sydney, June 15. Several quarantine regulations liave been altered, permitting N«w Zealand wool to enter the Commonwealth, provided that each consignment is accompanied by a certificate that the wool is produced in the Dominion.
AN ACTIVE VOLCANO.
Received 15, 9.18 p.m . New York, June 15. Two more eruptions occurred at Mt. Lassen, ajd considerably enlarged the opening. One eruption lasted for thirty minutes, ejecting smoke, ashes, rocks and deadly gases to a height of two thousand feet. The eruption could be seen fifty miles away.

The present gnat programme will :be screened to-night for the lust time. Picture lovers of New Plymouth who have not witnessed "How Moving Pictures are Made," should not miss this last opportunity of seeing such an interesting film. Scats may be reserved at the Empire Theatre. To-morrow a grand double star programme will bo presented featuring "Shadow of Guilt" (2000 feet), Kalem star drama, and Edison's fine appealing drama, "Stanton's Last Fling" (2000 feet). Supporting items are all up to the Empire standard.

THE GREAT THIRD DEGREE. Tlie Theatre Royal Picture Co. hold another big surprise for New Plymouthites in their new programme, which opened last night. Tlie big audience which assembled expected to have an unusual treat, and their expectations were fully realised, and the Royal management can be sure that programmes of this high standing will always receive the support they deserve. "The Third Degree," the Lubin 5000 ft special star drama, cinematiscd from the stage play introduced to Australasia by J. C. Williamson some time ago, proved a huge attraction, and the enthusiasm its first presentation last night brought forth confirmed the reports of the tremendous success this picture was said to enjoy. Tlie artists are simply splendid in their various portrayals, and the melodramatic portions of the play) were in no way exaggerated, the light, humorous situations lending charming variety to a splendid performance. Picture-lovers must make a special effort to see "The Third Degree," as a most enjoyable evening will be the result. The first portion of the programme includes excellent supporting films, with a newsy Gaumont Graphic, two- first-class comedies —which made the house roar with laughter last night —and a picturesque colored scenic in "The Coast of the Black Sea." Popular prices prevail (Is and Gd), and the box plan is open at Collier's for the convenience of patrons. This programme should show to big houses.
