M. Venizelos, in the Chamber, stated that thousands of Greek refugees had reached Greece and thousands were awaiting transportation. The question arose whether it was possible to tolerate the situation much longer. The position was very grave and must end. (Prolonged cheers.) A strongly-worded note has been sent to Turkey demanding the instant cessation of persecutions.' Excitement prevails in Athens.
Melbourne, June 13. The Greek Consul has received a cable from the Greek Government ordering all naval reserves to present themselves for compulsory service.
