A HOSPITAL FOR VOLUNTEERS. WILL Alii. KKDMOXD PRKVAIL? By Cable- —Press Association—Copyiigbt Received 14, 5.5 p.m. London, June 13. Lady Londimtlerry has converted part o£ her ilount Stewart (County Down) residence into a hospital, with twentyone beds, i'or wounded Ulster volunteers. The Uaih News says the situation in Ireland is serious, but no doubt Mr. Rediqonds influence will prevail. Directly the volunteers realise that an attempt is beiug made to tarn them into a weapon to destroy the Parliamentary cause and revise the discarded and fatal doctrine of physical force, their allegiance Mr. Redmond will be assured.
NATIONALISE' VOLUNTEERS ARB .US DISCIPLINED,
Received 14, 5.5 pjn. London, June 13. Mr. Ronar Law, at Glasgow, said the Nationalist volunteers were in one sense ' far more dangerous to peace than the Ulster volunteers, < for they were less disciplined and not under a single leader whom they trusted and revered. The situation was fraught with all the elements of an explosion possible at any moment, with appalling consequences.
AUSTRALIAN MEETING.
IN FAVOR OF HOME RULE.
~, A SENSATIONAL STATEMENT.
TEE HOUSE DIVIDED.
Sydney, June 13. 'Archbishop Kelly presided at a big meeting, whieli included Mr. Holman ' and several Ministers, in the Town Hail, in favor of Home Rule. Mr. Holman and others made rousing speeches, ami a resolution was adopted congratulating Mr. Asquith on the passing of the Bill and hoping that no amendment would be made permanently excluding'any portion of Ulster, such a course would perpetuate discontent in Ireland uml delay the realisation ot a true and lasting bond of sympathy between members of the Empire. Other resolutions expressed confidence in the Xationaliet leaders and depre- " cated any attempt by the Nationalist volunteers to provoke a conflict with Ulster. • s; J London, June 12. Mr, Redmond has issued a sensational statement tiiat the provisional committee has decided to ask the volunteers in " county to el'ct a representative to serve, on tin' provisional committee. "Shis'amounts to a refusal to accept his ■ affer of CD-operation. The present Dublin 'jjoi&nittee will not support the Xational Party, though 05 per cent, of the volunteers so. It is impossible for this to continue. There is no security against an attempt to dictate a policy to the elected representatives of Ireland. Unless the new county committees are qvite independent of the Dublin committee Mr. Redmond says he must appeal to the Nationalists among the ■ Wnlunteers to seeure a governing body aZEving tht confidence of Ireland.
