BILL PASSES THE SENATE.. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright Washington, June 11. The Senate, defeated a series of amendments on the Canal Tolls Bill by a majority of ten votes. Thirteen Republicans voted on the Democratic side. An attempt is now proceeding to carry other amendments asserting American sovereignty, but it is considered probable that the repeal forces will win. Repeated suggestions have been made to submit the dispute to arbitration. Received 12, 9.35 p.m. Washington, June 12.

The Senate, by 60 to 35, adopted the Panama Canal Tolls, with Mr. Norris' amendment, which provides that the United States specifically reserves all rights granted under the Hay-Paunee-fote treaty. » The Lower House is likely to accept the amendment with litle discussion.
