In the House of Commons, the second reading was carried of an amending Insurance Act, dealing with unemployment. The policy of taic Act is unchanged, the amendment being directed towards cheapening the administration and to bring more trades and callings under its scope. Critics urged t'hat the Bill relieved the Treasury alone.
