BURGLARS INTERRUPTED.
EXCITING INCIDENT IN SYDNEY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 9, 12.10 a.m. Sydney, June 8. For the fourth time in twelve months burglars attempted to rob the Oxford street post office. Early this morning the watchman heard someone inside, lie fastened the door and went to obtain assistance. He bad only proceeded a few yards when a man, evidently watching his movements, fired a revolver, the bullet passing through the watchman's cheek, and striking a second man, who was standing on. the footpath, and knocking out three of his teeth, The watchman lired three shots at his assailant, who succeeded in es-aning. ' .Meanwhile the safe-breaker, who was loiked inside, alarm::! hy tlie Siring, broke a fanligh , reached the back of the building and descended by the (ire escape and got away. Explosives were found in the keyhole of the safe, but nothing is roUsin#.
