The popularity of the Jersey cow is firmly established among this dairy farmers of Taranalri, and it is a striking fact that, when once a man has established a herd We is for ever a;ter an ardent champion of the breed. During the past week or so, one of Taranaki's most practical and successful farmers, "who Ihias recently purchased a farm for one. of his sons in the Waik'vto, paid a visit to Mr. Newton King's Wahvakaiho saleyards and purchased a fine line of Jersey in-calf ta'fers, which will Filiortly be railed north. Being a dairyman of wide experience, this gentleman states that he is .satisfied that for all-round dairy purposes, there is nothing to equal the Jersey, and tiliat the type of dairy cow in Taranaki is much siiperiior to that obtainable in the Waikafo. licneo his reason for deciding to mv-iu'c gride Jerseys from tbis district.
