ARRIVAL OF BRITISH OFFICERS. fly Telegraph—Press Associal ion. Wellington, Jjast Night. Among the passengers who arrived from London by ttie Rotorin to-day, were Giptain (j. 11. MacUanald, of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and Cnpitain Gibbon, of t'tie Royal Irish Fusiliers', both of whom were acc<in:|ianitd by-their wives and famil-ifc'. O.'.ptain Mac-Donald wi'l succeed Lieut.-Colonel Rrait'hwaite who has been appointed Chief of the General sta.fr, £ll succession to Ooltnel Heand, as General staff officer for the -Auckland military district. Captain Gibbon will replace Lieut.Colonel Cochrane (who lias gone to Eii«/nd) as director of military operations.
