A FATHER'S CRIME.
TYXAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Mou<lay. In the Police Court, William Tynan was charged with the attempted murder of his daughter Evelyn, whom lie waylaid when she was leaving school and cut her throat with n razor. Prisoner sat through the proceedings unconcernedly, as liaving apparently only a spectator's interest in the evidence, though occasionally he displayed signs of nervous stress. Detective McMahon stated that prisoner when arrested expressed a desire to be hanged witliout delay. Mrs. Tynan stated that lier husband had threatened her previously with a razor, but she had never 'heard hiin threaten lier children. Her husband had been drinking to excess. Tynan, when asked 1 to plead, remained silent and was committed for trial* ; ,
