FIRE BRIGADE BALL. Mrs. Sykes has kindly donated a prize of 10s each to the boy and girl whose conduct and deportment are the beet at the Fire Brigade ball. Will the ladies who kindly promised supper dishes for the ball have them retwly early on Wednesday morning, when they will lie called for! Will the children going to the ball ill fancy dress put their names and character they represent on the back of their tickets? Tickets mav be obtained from the secretary (Mr. H. 11. Ford, Devon street, Central).
THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES, ' Last niglit saw a very fair audience . at the Theatre Royal to watch the screening of the new programme, which ' proved a very enjoyable collection. The big picture, "Brothers in War," is full of stirring situations, and the love story entwined round it adds greatly to it# fascination. The battle scenes depict the strenuous times durirg the can Civil War. Another fine film is JB seen in the child study, "His Majesty tlie Baby." The little dot gits among * his dumb subjects and plays with and lilies them as and on bis appear- • nnce on the picture screen he at one# enthrones himself as reigning monarch in the hearts of the audience. The Him is unique and its popularity can be quits understood. Many other good subjects are included, among them being a very ' laughable Keystone comedy, "He would a-hunting go." This collection will be shown for the last time to-night, and • patrons will enjoy a very excellent evening-
