A STEAMER ASHORE.
IMMIGRANTS MEET UNEXPECTED TRIALS. By Cable—Press Association- -Copyright Brisbane, May 26. The steamer Waipara, from London, with 350 immigrants, is badly ashore on Hanibal Reef, southward of Thursday Island. An attempt to tow her off failed. The warship Fantome and other vessels have gone to her assistance, taking supplies for the immigrants.
