AIR. ATMORE AT CLINTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Clinton, t-ast Night. Mr. H. Atmore, member for Neteoii, delivered an address to a largely attended meeting to-night. The address was mainly an indictment of the Maasey Government on the score of 'broken promises and unfaithfulness to election pledges. The speaker strongly- criticised the "toy navy" scheme, and asserted concerning the recent big strike that Mr. Massey was simply Prime Minister under direction, and tad been afraid to take active measures to settle tho strike. Mr. Atmoro received a very attentive hearing, his remarks being frequently punctuated with applause. A motion expressing thank* to the speaker, and confidence in the Liberal P4rty, and the wish that at next election the party under the leadership of Sir Joseph Ward would be returned to power, was carried unanimously.
