SIR IAN HAMILTON.
REVIEW AT MASTERTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. General Sir lan Hamilton arrived here from Wellington this morning. He was met by the Pipe Band and escorted to the Club Hotel, where he was entertained at luncheon by the Borough Council. In responding to tlie toast of 'his health, the General emphasised the necessity for maintaining purity of race in the Dominion, and for the young people the protection of the heritage left them by their 'forefather*. lie also spoke in glowing terms of the scenery he had witnessed en route to Mnsterton, and stated that many people in the Old Country would pay large sums of money to be afforded an opportunity of seeing such magnificent mountain and hill scenery. Alter luncheon General Hamilton inspected about 500 cadets on the old showgrounds, together with a number of veterans and South African Conlingcnters. He alsc>-presented the Godfey Caps to cadets. He spent the night as the guest of Mr. and .Mrs. 11. 11. Beetham. at Braneepeth.
