The Premier promised that Ministerial consideration would be given to the Upper House suggestion. With regard to ■women sitting in the Assembly and on municipal councils, the Government intended to bring the Constitution into line with those of the more advanced | States. Tlie aim of democracy was to extend the range of choice, and allow the electors to say whether they would be represented by a man or a woman.
