CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
BRICKLAYERS' DISPUTE. < By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. A dispute between the Bricklayers' Union.aml the Wellington Building Contractors' Asj-'ocintinfl was before the Conciliation Council to-day, Mr. P. Hally, Commissioner, presiding. The schedule of demands, which it is proposed to make into a Dominion award, asks for an increase from Is 7d to Is 9d per hour, and material increases in apprentices' wages, also for a 44 hours' week instead of 45 hours. Amendments are also Asked in several other clauses. The employers' counter proposals are for 44 hours n week and Is 7d per 'hour, with the rest of the clauses based for the most part on the terms of the carpenters' award. The council in committee i* discussing the proposals.
