Mr Charles Rcade, organiser of the Australasian town-planning tour, leaves Sydney for New Zealand by the Maunganui kmi Saturday. A Melbourne cablegram reports the death of Alderman Brennan, aged 71, the Supreme Grand Arch-Druid of Aua-' tralia and New Zeabuti. Advices have been received of the d«ath in England of tide Rev. Dr. Robertson, a veteran New Hebrides missionary. He was an Australian.

Blomfield, an old Thames boy and now Mayor of Takapuna, is mentioned aa the Liberal candidate for Thames at the general elections. This is "Bio," of Auckland Observer fame. Mr W. A. Low, the well known theatrical 1 manager, is in town making arrangements for the appearance of Miss Maud Allan and the Cherniavskys, at the Theatre Royal next Tuesday. At the Band Carnival social last night Mr. W. Dinccn, of the New Blvmouth prison staff, who has been transferred to I Auckland, was presented with a gold sovereign case as a slight mark of appeciation of the way in which he lias worked for many objects in the interests of the town.
