Speaking at a farewell Parliamentary luncheon, Messrs Cook and Fisher eulogised Lord Denman's administration. White Australia, and recognised that Australians would never be content to rely on a treaty with any foreign Power; however friendly that Power was, for the defence of the Pacific.
