The Customs authorities at Glasgow seized two cases marked "hardware," shipped from London to .the Clyde for Donegal. They contained 500 swords and bayonets. Sir Robertson Nicoil, in an article in the British Weekly, states that the Nonconformists demand the renewal of Ulster's option at the end of the sixyear period. This will give the Nationalists one chance in a thousand with Ulster, whereas the shadow of coercion will provoke a fiercer hostility. PROVISIONS OF THE AMENDING BILL. OPTIONAL EXCLUSION OF ULSTER. The Westminster Gazette states that the amending Home Rule Bill will give the option to the Ulster Counties to 'count themselves out of Home Rule, and create a commission to delimit areas and separate the functions of the two administrations which will exist in Ireland. The British Weekly declares that after the concession of six years interval by the Nationalists ttjere is no stopping short of the option when the six years are ended. Let none imagine that the Liberal party will go to the country on the question of the coercion of Ulster. A SIMPLE MEASURE. The Chronicle says it is unlikely that the amending Bill will be introduced before June 10, for the Teason that it is believed to be strictly limited in scope, and not to present anything like a J broad front for criticism and attack. It will probably take power to appoint a commission to draft a scheme for the administration of the excluded areas. j
