GEVT MOTOR GARAGE. A VISIT TO MR. JAS. DONALD'S. When Mr. J. Donald announced his intention of relinquishing his popular "Grown" livery staibles and! opening a motor garage he told a News representative that lie was going to do the thing properly, A visit on Saturday showed 'that he has been as good as his word. Tha place is a motor garage from end to» end. Those familiar with the dimensions of a large livery stables, with its two-vehiele fairway and double row of stalls, will readily gather that with all the stable impedimenta gone there ia ample width. The garage must be at least 40ft deep, with a turn-table towards the back. Then comeß the work•hop, a well-lighted, roomy, and completely equipped department, in charge of an English mechanic of exceptionally kigh qualifications, so that all classes at repairing can be undertaken, vulcanising being a specialty. The opening of this very complete garage in Stratford •hould prove a boon to the rapidly increasing numbers of; car-owners in a very large district. Mr. Donald has acquired the Taranaki agency of the now famous Morris-Oxford light car, wh6se performances have taken England by storm, and he also Indies Buick cars and the Royal Ruby motor cycle, which las a road and track record second to none. Mr. Donald, is, determined to handle nothing but first-class agencies, and to do nothing but first-class work. Recently Mr, Donald learned that a Wellington firm was re-treading tyres, and sent forward on£ ojf his own castoff Cadillac tyres. This is now returned, and looks as good as new, at half the cost of a new tyre. Orders are being taken at the garage for this work, and j as the tests of the re-tiring are made it I should prove a very busy department. I
