General manager of Railway?, arrived from the south this evening. At the Harbor Board office they received representatives of the board and shipping companies, who represented the inadequacy of the facilities for handling direct imports from Home. Last month a Home liner took 'J 1 ,-, days to land 2415 tons. This was partly due to the insufficient shunting power, and partly to want of room in the railway sheds. Hon. Berries said these matters would he considered with others brought before him elsewhere. He hoped to be able to get a loan to deal with them.
