Mr. Landor, interviewed in Paris, retorted: "Before Mr. Roosevelt does so I advise him to penetrate Brazil on foot, instead of in a steam launch. It seems that he copied some of the principal incidents of my voyage. He even had the same sipkness and injuries. Thr-e things often happen to big explores who carefully read other travellers' i books."
