WELLINGTON CITY LOANS.
FOB STREETS, PARKS AND TRAMS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Speaking at the installation ceremony to-day, the Mayor, Mr. J. P. J .like, foreshadowed big loan proposals for various works, spreading over a number of years. The total amount involved is over £300,000. Of this, £220,0()0 is estimated to be required for general works, including a traffic tunnel to Bfcataitai, £70,000; wood-blocking, £61,000, and the balance for suburban street improvement, parks and baths. A tramway loan of £96,000 is required cor various duplications and extensions of tracks, new cars, and sheds. Special expenditure on tramways and mot»r buses, amounting to £21.000, is contempated out of revenue..
