TERRITORIALS AT TAKAPAU
KEAL WORK COMMENCES TO-DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Takapau Camp, Last Night. Approximately 3000 more infantry arrived ,at the Takapau" camp during today. They were from the Main Trunk, Wellington and Hawke's Bay districts. The number under canvas now is 6000, indudiag 1500 mounteds. Weather conditions are at present doubtful, though the rain kept off during Hie day. The lines arc gradually drying up, hut having been cut about a good deal it will not take much rain to put tham in a sloppy condition again. Rifleman Lobb, of New Plymouth, who Was supposed to have had appendicitis, tpd Trooper Blackstock, of Taranaki, lftio was kicked by a horse, are both progressing very satisfactorily.
This afternoon Private McKenzie, of Napicd, sprained a knee while working, Mid was despatched to bfe home. , To-morrow, field operations commence on :i large scale, and the men will be ;put to work in real earnest.
