TOWN V. COUNTRY.

(To the Editor.) Sir,-—I hope you will kindly allow me space in your valuable paper to express my gratitude for the expressions of loyalty which were uttered by the townspeople for their fellows in the back country at the Ministerial banquet heW at terenui on Friday last. Some people talk of "Town versus Country," but thi-, is now an obsolete term so far as our district is concerned. It is now town and country in unity, stand in- shoulder to shoulder .for the common weel of.tl.ii* community. As a country resident, it was the pleasure of my life to listen to kindly sentiments expressed by the townspeople for the farmers in the country, and, I say, may the whole Dominion take up a similar attitude, and then 1 will venture to predict that prosperity will be ours in full measure. lam sure my fellow farmers, like myself, felt a keen appreciation of the speeches made ny the people from the town that will' long remain. Cordial goodwill marked the proceedings from beginning to end.™ I am, etc., „ , T H. LAHSEN. Peliu, Uruti.
